OUR STORY
The Solar Chill project started as a dream molded in the minds of students who saw the need to create a unique space for students to de-stress. The idea, built upon a passion for sustainability and a yearning to promote campus unity, developed into a goal. This goal was to deliver a solar charging station that would incorporate sustainable seating for students to recharge their minds, bodies and portable electronic devices. After a long journey with many bumps in the road, the Solar Chill team is happy to share their dream with you. So relax, recharge, and chill...
Solar Chill is the first student engineering project approved to be constructed on campus at UC San Diego. It is a pilot project to show that UC San Diego is a living laboratory where students can create the change they wish to see on campus.
