ABOUT

Located at UC San Diego North Campus (in between the Village and Eleanor Roosevelt College), the Solar Chill site holds a 1.5 kW solar system and sustainable seating for passer-bys. The system size was calculated based on surveys sent out to UC San Diego students. Our unique curved structure is designed by Spotlight Solar to resemble a flower with the petals being six transparent solar panels. Under our beautiful structure lies two rock-filled gabion benches that are topped with reclaimed Torrey Pine wood planks. The site was made to be ADA compliant so that all members of the UC San Diego community are welcome.
